Collections of plants of the tropical, subtropical and Mediterranean climate are gathered in greenhouses. They serve for scientific, research and educational goals and visiting them is only allowed in previously announced groups. Among 2000 taxa, the biggest representation have the plants of the Mediterranean climate, like e.g.: olive tree, dwarf fan palm, oleander or myrtle and useful plants, like coffee tree, banana tree, vanilla, fig tree, lemon tree, cotton tree, pomegranate and black pepper, as well as numerous succulents coming from dry deserts and semideserts of Africa and both Americas. The highlights of these collections are Welwitschia mirabilis Hook. f., carnivorous plants and numerous fern species of the genus Platycerium sp.
